This sounds really counter-intuitive. We know that our goal is to be happy, to enjoy life. Why would we need to look for the uncomfortable? By nature, human beings escape from the pain and seek more of which brings them more joy. It is thus natural to think that we should avoid and we indeed unconsciously avoid the uncomfortable.
If life would be so easy, learning and improving would be so as well. To grow and to extend our limits, to increase our horizons, we need not only to do what pleases us, but also to look for the uncomfortable, because often what makes us uncomfortable is what we need the most.
The same with words: The truths we least want to hear are often the things that would be of most advantage for us to know. So, how about actively searching for something that makes us uncomfortable once in a while?
